How would you react if someone offered to run a horror scenario for you using Dungeons & Dragons, Fifth Edition? Turn the offer down flat? Run a mile? Ask why would anyone would want to run a horror game using Dungeons & Dragons, Fifth Edition when there are a hundred-and-one alternatives readily available, many of…

And they took the gifts that Nature left for them and turned those gifts to their own ends, shaping them through rites of chaos to become a teeming legion – least among their servants, but limitless in number. This scroll describes “seething caverns of chaos, impossible in their vast expanse” and filled with “the seething…

“Murder!” is the cry as death stalks the squalid and stinking streets of Spittle-Fields. As fog swirls around what light they carry in the dark and dingy alleys of the district abutting the Plague Gate, the Player Characters discover what will be the first of several bodies of women, accosted on the streets, their bodies…

It is an undeniable truth that the Witch gets a lot of bad press. Not necessarily within the roleplaying hobby, but from without, for the Witch is seen as a figure of evil, often—though not necessarily—a female figure of evil, and a figure to be feared and persecuted. Much of this stems from the historical…

For a long time I had difficulty playing D&D. I didn’t lack enthusiasm or know-how, I didn’t lack interested friends, and yet the organizational-scheduling side of play was extremely difficult to get going. RPGs are tricky activities, because the Referee (or DM, GM, MC, whatever) is saddled not only with running The Game, but also…
